"We are who we are because they were who they were."
- Maya Angelou

I've picked up my camera through a lot of different seasons, but the thing that keeps pulling me back is the same thing that drives most of my life: emotion & connection.

I'm obsessed with the in-between moments ... the ones you don't pose for. The kind you want to come back to years from now. Not the perfect version of life, but the real one.

I'm married to my favorite person and I am a homeschool momma to two boys who keep life pretty crazy in the best way.

Hey there! I'm Ashley ... a Chattanooga Lifestyle & Documentary Photographer.

01.

Watching my boys grow has changed the way I see photographs.

Time flies and I've noticed it's the small things I miss first ... their little looks & gestures, the way they sounded running around in their footy pajamas, the fights, the bedhead ... the list goes on. Those moments seemed ordinary (and even overwhelming) at the time, but they carry so much meaning now.

Documenting them (no matter how much they can't stand it these days) has become a way of holding onto those small things. Not to freeze the time, but to remember how it felt to be there in it.

MY HEART

02.

I have images of my own childhood that I come back to again and again.

They aren't perfect. Some are faded, some are blurry, some are cut from that one time I created a scrapbook and felt the need to cut every single photo, and some feel almost too simple to matter. Yet, they carry so much weight.

They remind me of who I was, where I came from, and the people who shaped me. They hold stories I didn't even realized mattered until much later.

MY CHILDHOOD

This is all where my love for photography comes from. I am all about making space for memories that only grow more meaningful with time.

Outside of photography, I enjoy a lot of things in life ... a good hike, hanging with my boys, all things music, and I'm quickly becoming an avid reader. I'm happiest when things are simple, unhurried, and a little wild. That pretty much shapes how I photograph my sessions and how I try to move through life.
