A while back I was doom scrolling and stumbled onto some clips from Now & Then and The Sandlot. It really reminded me of how fun summertime was back in the day. It just hit me in that moment that it would be SO FUN to kind of recreate a modern day version of those times.

So… What Are Summertime Short Stories?

These are short summer sessions built around real life.

These sessions are centered around movement, connection, personality, and the little moments that naturally happen when your family is simply together doing something you love.

That might look like:

• backyard fun with sprinklers / water hose
• outdoor adventure at a location you love
• popsicles on the porch
• pool day!

Or … we can freestyle it! Ultimately, it is whatever feels the most like your family.

My Approach: Documentary With a Little Lifestyle Mixed In

I would say my sessions lean heavily documentary, but with a little lifestyle mixed in when it needs to be.

What that means is I’m not showing up with a long shot list of poses to force your family through.

I’m watching what naturally unfolds first but I’ll also gently guide things along the way.

If the light is prettier ten feet over, I’ll move you there. If everyone is standing around unsure what to do for a second, I’ll step in and help create movement or give you something simple to do together.

Then I step back again.

I never want the session to feel overly posed or stiff, but I also never want you feeling completely lost either.

The goal is for your photos to feel honest while still looking beautiful.

• 45 minute session
• documentary/lifestyle approach
• your choice of summer activity
• 10 edited images included
• option to upgrade to the full gallery if desired

The sessions are $250 and will take place June through August 2026 in Chattanooga, TN and surrounding areas.
